Beautiful live edge shelves by Bailey Woodworking fill this nook nicely. #realwood #bozeman #remodel #deepenergyretrofit
We have been putting the finishing touches on our latest retro fit/addition. Including this very cool stairway and screen detail designed by Stewart architecture studios. All rail welding was done in house, and the screen was milled from idaho Douglas fir. #energyretrofit #bozemanmontana
For real airsealing recessed lighting in a energy retrofit. #energy-efficient #energyretrofit #bozeman
As we move from airsealing the basement to the first floor, the details get more complicated. The first story will have the WRB act as the air barrier as well. We do this to save money and space by not building a double wall system on the first floor. I glue the Mento WRB to the bottom plate and foundation. This is the same bottom plate that we glued our intello basement air barrier too. Thus connecting downstairs and upstairs air barriers together. The Mento WRB also gets glued to the buildings top plate. Latter we will add intello air barrier to the interior ceilings and glue to the same top plate. Thus completing a floor to ceiling relatively uninterrupted air barrier of basement to first floor to addition. #buildittight #deepenergyretrofit
Just picked this book and found it extremely interesting. It's not just another warning book about climate change. Instead it focus on climate change is here and this is what you have to do to survive it. A very easy and informative read.
A vast improvement for this basement wall. With our fully sealed Intello air barrier up, we framed another wall with studs at 24 inch centers. This wall will act as a service cavity for electrical and will receive mineral wool batt insulation. Ventilation for the basement will come from a pair of Lunos retro fit HRVs. One of witch you can see poking out of the wall system.
